On the night of 16-17 May 1943, Wing Commander Guy Gibson led 617 Squadron of the Royal Air Force on an audacious bombing raid to destroy three dams in the Ruhr valley. The mission was code named Operation ‘Chastise’ and this Limited Edition 1:30 scale 70th anniversary commemorative set depicts the famous Lancaster bomber fuselage and its 7 crew members, detailed in the series of hand painted die-cast figures, realistically displayed on the scenic base.
